Cardiff Anime Con and Stars Of Time

Posted on

The last couple of weekends have been fantastic at Cardiff Anime and Gaming Con and Weston-Super-Mares Stars Of Time. Here are the highlights!

Cardiff Anime and Gaming Con

First up was Cardiff Anime and Gaming Con on August 18th and 19th. Anime and Gaming Cons are my faourite events to trade at as the costumes, traders and customers are amazing but I am yet to do the August one when it's not raining all weekend, well theres always next year I guess! The costumes as usual were amazing and these were my favourites

From left to right we have Koro Sensei, Team Fortress 2 and Loki James of Banana Custard Costuming handstitched his Loki costume and his skill is what I aspire to in my costume making, plus his Loki makes me swoon. The Team Fortress 2 cosplays are the first I've seen after a friend introduced me to the game and the costumes were excellent and I love the use of a paper lampshade for the head of Koro Sensei, it's perfect!

I was quite good and didn't buy too much this weekend but I did buy a new sticker for Susan my sewing machine from Bishop, Please! who have a great range of quirky cards, stickers and badges. In fact I've only bought cards from them for my friends birthdays this last year.

The other item I bought was a fantastic acrylic necklace ( I love acrylic jewellery!) from Banana Custard Costuming. It's perfect for my Harley Quinn cosplay, check out James Etsy shop for more awesome makes.

Weston-Super-Mares Stars Of Time

This was my first time doing this event and I was not dissapointed, I have heard nothing but good things about this convention over the years so was really pleased to finally get to trade here, It was an event packed with photo opportunites, traders and celebs.

It was a lovely weekend and I met some lovely people and a few regular customers, including Amy who was sporting her lovely SockJems headscarf and infinity scarf.

I was very good and didn't buy anything but I did discover a new artist who is awesome, when I first saw his work I thought they were photographs they were so good but they are actually pencil drawings! His talet is amazing and I plan to purchase some of his work soon! Check out his amazing website and see just how amazing they really are!

I now have a break from conventions for a month to recover before I have one every weekend in October including UK Pony Con which I'm really excited about!

Until next time people.

Hey Hun, I spoke to you at Cardiff anime con about the dragonball z fabric and then subsequently lost my shit at the sight of your vegeta bag!!! ? So yeah I was wondering if It would be possible to order the small purse in that fabric? Also if you have either too little fabric for a purse or a surprising abundance of dragonball goodness I would also be interested in ordering a head scarf Thanks, it was lovely to meet you ?? Emily

Are you aware of the con in Cheltenham? It's in Febuary so one of the first cons of the new ear.
